  Fritz Ahlsen døde i Haugesund 10. april 1917 som følge av at skipet hans, DS Camilla, ble senket av en tysk ubåt i Nordsjøen 1. april 1917. Skipet var på reise fra New til Rotterdam med en last hvete.
