  Vicente Cano Cervantes omkom 5. juli 1917 da DS Bjerkø ble torpedert av en tysk ubåt. Skipet var på reise fra Spansk Marokko til West Hartlepool med en last jernmalm.

  Vicente Cano Cervantes died 5 July 1917 when DS Bjerkø was torpedoed by a German uboat. The ship was travelling from Spanish Morocco to West Hartlepool with iron ore.
